Restoration Projects in the Old City of Jerusalem

Preserving historic homes and strengthening the resilience and presence of their residents in Jerusalem.

The homes of the Old City of Jerusalem are an authentic part of its historical and cultural identity, and a testament to its people’s connection to their land and holy sites. However, many of these homes suffer from structural deterioration, damp, and damage to essential facilities, affecting the safety and stability of their residents. The project seeks to restore and rehabilitate the homes of Jerusalem families in the Old City by addressing structural damage, maintaining essential facilities, and improving housing conditions, while preserving the buildings’ architectural and heritage character. The project aims to provide a safe and dignified living environment for Jerusalem families, strengthen their resilience and ability to remain in their homes, and protect the Old City’s architectural heritage while preserving the Jerusalemite presence around the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
